About Smart Rescue
For more than 20 years, Smart Rescue has helped vulnerable cats and kittens throughout Spring, The Woodlands, and surrounding Texas communities find safety, medical care, and loving homes.
Who We Are
Smart Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit powered by volunteers, foster families, adopters, donors, and animal advocates committed to compassionate rescue and responsible placement. Unlike traditional shelters, our animals live in foster homes where they receive individualized care, socialization, and medical support while awaiting adoption.
Our focus is on the health and happiness of every cat that enters our program. By operating without a central physical building, we can direct more of our resources directly to veterinary bills, specialized food, and comprehensive support for our foster network, ensuring every animal gets the best start possible on their journey to a forever home.

Our Story
Founded in 2002, Smart Rescue began with a simple mission: to provide vulnerable animals with safety, medical care, and a second chance at life.
Over the years, Smart Rescue has grown into a respected foster-based rescue organization serving Spring, The Woodlands, North Harris County, Montgomery County, and surrounding Texas communities.

Why Foster-Based Rescue Matters
Because Smart Rescue is entirely foster-based, every rescued animal receives individualized care in a home environment rather than living in a traditional shelter setting. This approach helps animals socialize, recover, adjust to family life, and better prepare for successful forever-home placement.
